Eastgate Shopping Centre has just donated R300,000 of their parking earnings to Gift of the Givers!!!

Johannesburg, South Africa (13 October 2021) – Suddenly, that R10 that you pay for mall parking doesn’t feel so expensive anymore.

Eastgate Shopping Centre in Johannesburg has just donated R300,000 of parking earnings to the Gift of the Givers Foundation. This non-profit organisation will use the funds to provide food parcels to communities in need within the Ekurhuleni municipality.

The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest disaster response, non-governmental organisation of African origin on the African continent. It works to unite people with a common vision, to make a real and telling difference by serving mankind for the greater good.

R300,000 would mean that 30,000 shoppers contributed to this incredible donation!!!

While this is the first time that Eastgate has donated to this organisation, the mall’s holding company Liberty Two Degrees, has supported the organisation in the past.

“There is so much need in our country, which the recent pandemic has only exacerbated. I would like to commend Gift of the Givers for the remarkable work they do and their constant efforts to improve the quality of life of those in need,” said Kelly Belman, General Manager for Eastgate Shopping Centre. “I am so pleased that we can contribute to their efforts to change lives for good through this donation”, she added.
