Sandton, South Africa (13 October 2020) – Hotel Sky is the newest and most exciting addition to the South African hotel industry, offering world-class luxury at affordable prices, and they’re bringing some amazing technology to the country as well.

Given the current economic and travel situation, opening a new hotel is a very bold move, but the team behind this “new take on accommodation for travellers” have a fresh view of tourism and are adding hundreds of jobs to the South African market!

Hotel Sky, Sandton offers a selection of room types ranging from Standard Rooms to Executive Rooms to Suites, fitted with all the comforts you could desire. Whether you are travelling for business, on holiday with your family, visiting Johannesburg on a shopping spree at Sandton City, or simply enjoying a staycation, the rooms offer the best possible combination of comfort and value.

The newest jewel in the crown of Africa’s business hub, Hotel Sky Sandton offers 453 rooms as well as 13 world-class conference venues, restaurants, bars and other facilities and also includes their three AI-powered robots!

“We can’t wait for you to meet Micah, Lexi and Ariel – each one with its own name and personality and trained to assist you in various ways – from luggage portage and room service deliveries to answering your questions about the hotel and surrounding areas.”

This means by using the robots and the unique App system; guests can access a room without ever having to interact with people if they wish – something very unique to South Africa.

But the technology is not taking employment away from humans; in fact, the two new hotels have added hundreds of jobs to the South African market.

Their overarching goal is to ensure that every visit to Hotel Sky Sandton is more memorable than the last, and that vision extends to the two new restaurants joining the Sandton nightlife – Eclipse and Equinox. Both restaurants are open to Hotel Sky guests and to visitors looking for a delicious meal and an unsurpassed experience.

Eclipse

One of the highlights of Hotel Sky Sandton is the beautiful Eclipse Restaurant – a must-see. Located on the fifth floor of the establishment, the delicious Eclipse menu is complemented by unparalleled views of Sandton. Eclipse offers elegant dining and can seat up to 240 people and includes an amazing bar area and an open terrace.

The restaurant is open daily from 12.30 pm to 11.30 pm (although the kitchen closes at 9.45 pm) to both hotel guests and visitors, and offers a la carte lunch and dinners with live entertainment on select evenings.

Equinox

The Equinox Restaurant on the first floor can seat up to 300 people and will be open for breakfast from 6.30 am until 10.30 am on weekdays and until 11.00 am on weekends.

Day Conference Packages for lunches are also available on request. With its tasty menu and stunning design, Equinox is the perfect venue for an early breakfast meeting, and the stunning Terrace will be open for drinks until 8.00 pm.

Equinox is also fitted with a live cooking station, with select nights offering an interactive experience when the cooks take the mics, and food becomes entertainment.
