The local Beer Brand has created a tear-jerker video for Father’s Day honouring the men in our lives who taught us what it means to be loved.
Father’s Day is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 (St. Joseph’s Day) since the Middle Ages. This celebration was brought by the Spanish and Portuguese to Latin America, where March 19 is often still used for it, though many countries in Europe, Africa and the Americas have adopted the U.S. date, which is the third Sunday of June (falling on June 17 in 2018).
It complements similar celebrations honouring family members, such as Mother’s Day, Siblings Day and Grandparents Day.
Carling Black Label decided to create a tear-jerker video for Father’s Day this year, “honouring the men in our lives who taught us what it means to be loved.”
“This Father’s Day we celebrate the men in our lives who taught us what it means to be loved. #ChampionDad #RaisingChampions #FathersDay”
The video shows South Africans speaking about the father figures in their lives, while the father figures watch it in some sort of cinema.
It ends with one of the Dads saying:
“This is the best acknowledgement I have ever had, I’m so happy that you’ve said it when I’m still alive.”
