Global Citizen Africa Awake

A group of passionate, likeminded people have come together to raise funds for some well deserving NPO’s with a lineup of comedy, dance and music that will dazzle young and old alike.

 

This amazing line up of performers includes award winning comedian/singer Deep Fried Man, popular songstress Laurie Levine and recording artist Helen Desbois, who will be performing her brand new single for the first time live. Also on the line up are super talented Pantsula group Soweto Junction and ballerina Alison Sichy Smith. The stage is shared with some young and upcoming performers from the Andre Beck school of dance and presented by actress and MC Caryn Katz.

Afrika Awake promises to give you a riveting evening of diverse entertainment.

Whilst enjoying this evening you will be contributing to some NPO’s working pro bono to assist refugees living in South Africa.

Victory Theatre have kindly donated 50% of theatre cost and Performers donated their craft at no cost.

Afrika Awake is a registered Section21, whose core focus is assisting Refugees and asylum seekers living in SA as well as implementing cleverly designed initiatives that promote social cohesion, in order to prevent xenophobia and that benefit and uplift both SA and non SA citizens.

Redeeming Hope for the Disabled is a registered charitable organization established in a xenophobic context with the aim of addressing the special needs of refugees living with disabilities in SA.

Make us Models youth academy Alexandra’s, core focus is providing the youth of Alexandra multiple opportunities to explore their talents and passions through their Dance Leagues, Youth Parliament and Woman’s League.
