Sipho Njengazi has turned adversity into drive and teaching others to do the same; the inspiring new business owner has big dreams for his life.

Kalk Bay, South Africa (17 September 2020) – The community of Kalk Bay in the Western Cape are backing one of their own in his new business venture. 21-year-old Sipho Njengazi has started a fitness business “Sunrise Sessions with Sipho” but it is his back story and drive to succeed that has everyone talking.

Sipho was abandoned as a baby and raised in foster care for his entire life. He set a goal to be able to support himself by his 21st birthday. He wanted to have a home he could call his own and move out of the haven he currently lives at. An admirable goal!

During the height of the lockdown, he faced a moment where he nearly became homeless but thanks to a generous person, he was able to find new boarding.

Sipho grew up loving rugby and spent all his free time playing at WP Acadamy and more recently, the False Bay Rugby Club. This led to a passion for fitness and with hard work, Sipho earned his Personal Training Certificate. He loves training and wanted to share that passion with others.

This inspired Sipho to start his business. Through this business, he will be able to support the life and the home he has always dreamed of. Sipho spent some time around Kalk Bay and saw a beauty in it that would inspire others to join him in working out. Without a gym or space to train people, Sipho decided to embrace something the Western Cape has in abundance – beautiful public spaces.

Working six days a week, people can join Sipho in a selection of workouts designed to address different areas of fitness and ability.

“I have a gift and I want to share it. I love the place of Kalk Bay, I love physical activity and I love the community.

I want to inspire people to be the greater version of themselves and there is no better time. You don’t need fancy equipment, you just need to want to have fun, work hard and be inspired by the world around us” – Sipho

A few people have started attending his sessions and have noted what an inspirational person he is despite his hardships in life.

“This guy is a proper inspiration who has truly moved my world. His story is something to behold. Abandoned at birth and being brought up in the system, you cannot believe the wisdom and positivity that this kid holds. Where life has given him every reason to be bitter, angry and cynical, he is, in fact, enlightened and magnificently positive. He is setting up his own business doing fitness training in group sessions or one on one in the magical village of Kalk Bay. This is a seriously brilliant way to start your day.” – Lorrianne Cloete

If you would like to support Sipho’s new business and dreams, you can find out more about his sessions via Facebook here. Now is the perfect time to start getting ready for summer! Are you in?
