“I make anything with wheels or without wheels so long as they send me a photo.”

Hammanskraal, South Africa (16 March 2022) – Hendrick Chebanga has an incredible talent for building model cars and other forms of transportation. GroundUp’s Adel Van Niekerk visited his workshop to see what some of his latest projects are.

Hendrick has the ability to build a near-identical vehicle model using only a photo. He tells Adel he can make almost any kind of vehicle, including boats, bikes, aeroplanes and helicopters.

He started crafting from the age of 4 and has built quite a following. He shares with GroundUp that he now has customers from all over Africa and the United Kingdom. Two of his model vehicles have been sent to England.

The business helps support his family. Being the father of two children, he feels the work is enough to take care of them and their futures.

He dreams of expanding his business tools as his workload increases. He also hopes to employ someone to join him. These dreams are very close to being a reality, so long as people continue to support his craft.

You can reach Hendrick via his Facebook page Hendrick Africa Crafts Works here.
