Various construction projects for the advancement of infrastructure have been planned in Morreesburg, Western Cape and a few more places in SA, creating an air of expectation among the people.

Western Cape, South Africa (26 August 2021) – With the world moving towards infrastructural innovations and improvements, South Africa takes its step in improving local infrastructure. Notable infrastructure plans and investments can be expected in Moorreesburg, Western Cape.

These investments which are coming up are said to increase the employment opportunities for residents of Moorreesburg in the next few years.

On August 25, 2021, this information was shared by Swartland Municipality to the Moorreesburg Business Chamber during a ‘COVID-19 safety’ meeting.

The project of upgrading the wastewater treatment works was started in October. The team expects the project to be completed by January 2023. With a grand budget of R122 million (VAT excluded), this will act as a replacement to the old facility from 1975.

The new facility’s capacity is 1,5Ml/d. The technology has been named as a denitrifying activated sludge system and will include a mechanical dehydration system. It will be released and installed soon across the world as per the expectations of the team.

On the other side, the construction of a new high school by The Western Cape Government has been the talk of the town. The building is said to have 24 general classrooms, 1 multipurpose classroom, a specially equipped classroom for physics and chemical sciences, a multimedia centre, a school hall, an administrative building and a future sports field. With R63,3 million as the estimated budget for the project, it is expected to benefit the educational sector to a good extent.

The up-gradation of the N7 between Rooidraai and Moorreesburg will be commenced by SANRAL soon, as per the information received. Renovating the surface of the road, widening the road in strategic areas and upgrading strategic crossings along this route are the focus areas of this project.

The agricultural sector will benefit as safe and reliable transport of goods to and from the farms will be achieved through this project. The estimated duration of the work over 36 months and it is expected to be mobilised from September 2021.

These infrastructural improvements will improve the economy of the nation to a great extent and will increase the overall employment rates. The people of South Africa are looking forward to more infrastructural and technological advancements in the near future.
