Plant Pot of soup outside restaurant reminds us all what really matters!

A pot of soup placed outside a Cape Town restaurant is reminding us all to be more giving this winter!

Cape Town, South Africa – Plant – a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Cape Town – is inspiring the nation with its simple idea to help the less fortunate this winter!

Plant was established in 2013 to promote plant-based food choices and to provide a space in Cape Town where vegans and people with food allergies can find amazing food without sacrificing taste. From the humble beginnings of a Bo-Kaap Café to a gourmet vegan restaurant in Cape CBD… Plant offers delicious vegan food, helping you make more compassionate choices without sacrificing taste.

“Our objective is to supply clean; healthy nutrition optimised for today’s fast-paced lifestyle. We pride ourselves on exemplary service, and customer satisfaction is our primary objective.

Education about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle is a part of an ongoing commitment to making this world a little better, a little kinder.”

And their simple act of kindness this Winter is inspiring everyone who sees it!

Robert Chong saw the pot of soup and immediately posted photos which have quickly gone viral among South African social media.

“What’s this ?? A pot of soup! But why outside at Plant Cafe, Buiten Street, Cape Town?

My curiosity got the better of me, and I went in to ask. Well, did you know that Plant Cafe makes a pot of soup daily for homeless people living in the city.? This is so cool!

I think we should be part of Plant Cafe and support their business who care for the less fortunate!

I am so very proud to be associated with these wonderful and caring people. May you be greatly blessed Pierre & staff! Bravo!”

Plant got this idea to make a daily kitchen soup when they saw their neighbours ‘Lolas’ doing a weekly one on Monday evenings.

“We truly believe it is our first duty as restaurants. It does not cost much, yet it warms the bellies and the hearts and gives big smiles to everyone.”

Ah, kindness! What a simple way to tell another struggling soul that there is love to be found in the world.
