Automation Africa’s generous donation of a cutting-edge 5kW inverter system to the SPCA Vet Shop in Plumstead amidst the challenges of loadshedding, empowers the organization to continue its vital work while securing uninterrupted power for enhanced security and income-generating initiatives.

Western Cape, South Africa (29 July 2023) – Plumstead’s SPCA Vet Shop is buzzing with excitement and overflowing with heartfelt gratitude, all thanks to an extraordinary act of kindness from a South African company. When faced with a pressing need, Automation Africa stepped up to the plate, generously donating a cutting-edge 5kW inverter system, transforming darkness into light for the SPCA Vet Shop.

The fateful morning of July 15th, 2023, brought a disheartening discovery for the SPCA staff – their beloved Vet Shop had fallen victim to a robbery and merciless ransacking. The notorious Stage 6 loadshedding had left the shop’s alarm and camera systems powerless, creating an opportune moment for criminals to strike, causing significant damage and making off with valuable products and cash.

Recognizing the critical importance of an uninterrupted power supply for the Vet Shop’s security, Automation Africa swiftly intervened with an awe-inspiring gesture. They donated a top-of-the-line 5Kva Luxpower Hybrid inverter system, complete with a Wifi dongle for remote monitoring, coupled with a powerful 5.12kw 48v Lithium Volta battery. With this incredible setup, the Vet Shop will remain fully powered even when Eskom flips the switch to darkness.

Moyo Ndukwana, CEO of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, couldn’t contain his enthusiasm, stating, “The inverter system is a game-changer; it will ensure uninterrupted power to our security systems, safeguarding not only vet shop products and assets but also securing the SPCA’s ability to generate a portion of our income through commercial trade.”

This generous donation’s impact will be long-lasting, as Ndukwana explains, “It’s a gift that will keep on giving because all profits generated via our Vet Shops go directly back to our day-to-day operations. This donation will ensure that we can continue our animal rescue work.”

Mark Bristow, the compassionate Director of Automation Africa, was moved by a colleague’s article highlighting the Vet Shop’s plight and saw an opportunity to make a difference. He expressed the company’s commitment to social responsibility and their strong belief in giving back to the community, saying, “We all love animals at Automation Africa, and we’re fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to the community. We admire the organization’s work and their efforts to help themselves via an income-generating initiative, and we wanted to support that.”

The SPCA sends a resounding “thank you” to Automation Africa for empowering them – quite literally – to continue their vital mission of creating a kinder world for animals, all while doing so in a sustainable manner.

With Automation Africa’s benevolent gesture, the SPCA Vet Shop stands tall as a beacon of hope, proving that when compassionate hearts come together, the world becomes a brighter place for those in need.
