R50 million has been set aside to assist struggling parents to cover school fees during the lockdown period; Curro wants to offer some relief to those in need.
Johannesburg, South Africa (15 May 2020) – Education is a priority for parents, but through the economic troubles faced, many are not sure how they will cover school fees. For those with children in a Curro school, a little relief is on the way!
Curro Holdings set up a COVID-19 Care Fund of R50 million to assist parents who are struggling to pay school fees. The company understands the crippling economic implications that the Coronavirus has brought about, and the effect that it has had on several families’ financial situations. They are grateful to able to assist parents with some financial relief.
All parents will qualify for some relief in June 2020. This is a massive help to everyone who has been worried about covering the fees. Curro reiterates that it cares deeply for the well-being of not only its learners and staff, but also that of its parent community.
“While the situation surrounding the duration of the lockdown remains uncertain, Curro recognises parents’ concern about the disruptive nature of the global pandemic and the impact it is having on the school year. Curro would like to assure that it is committed to providing all of its learners with a full year’s schooling.
During this time, Curro has successfully transitioned from in-class learning to a remote and online learning strategy. This learning strategy comes over-and-above the learners’ regular education approach and will serve as a ‘double educational benefit’ for learners.”
Parents can communicate with the school representatives through their usual platforms to access more information regarding the Care Fund.
