This guy saved the day, a walk to the reception in distress as 4 bridesmaid dresses were 3 sizes to big, we were calmed with an angel being the receptionist by day but actually a fashion designer by trade!
Midlands, South Africa – Sew amazing… a receptionist by day, fashion designer by night and wedding hero when no one expected it.
Madelé Nelson shared a story on Facebook after Sbonelo Madlala saved the day on the eve before the wedding when the bridal party realised that 4 of the bridesmaid’s dresses were 3 sizes to big!
The ladies approached the reception hoping that Madlala would be able to point them in the right direction to getting the dresses fixed in time and that is when he offered to work through the night to get them fixed.
“This guy saved the day, a walk to the reception in distress as 4 bridesmaid dresses were 3 sizes to big, we were calmed with an angel being the receptionist by day but actually a fashion designer by trade!
20.30 at night in a cold Midlands Sbonelo Madlala made his way down with his sewing machine to save 4 bridesmaid’s dresses on the eve before the wedding, with a smile and even entertained us with his music.
Let’s give Sbonelo some exposure, he studied and worked as an intern at a retail clothing chain store and gave up his career to return home and look after his ill mother. He is currently a receptionist in the Midlands but has a true passion for fashion design and seamstress work. He is extremely talented, a kind soul and a true angel! Thank you for saving the day Sbonelo, may God bless your road ahead!
What a wonderful country we live in, South Africans caring for one another above and beyond!”
The post has been shared thousands of times with many South Africans saying how inspired they are by the story.
“This is the SA that will survive …..goodwill and respect.” – Cathy Pistorius
“Wow wow wow!! This is the absolute best!! ♥️ Well done, Sbonelo, you are an inspiration to us!!” – Suzanne Gericke
“What an awesome story! Well done Sbonelo those dresses look gorgeous.” – Lucinda Rawlins
Madlala was thankful for the post but even more thankful that he was able to help in their time of need.
“Thank you so so much I really appreciate your words, and it was the least I could do I’m literally in tears of joy now I’m so glad I could help out and once again thank you so much, God, bless you.”
