The Eagle Canyon Super SPAR made an announcement yesterday that they will be offering FREE delivery to all retirement villages and pensioners.
Johannesburg, South Africa (18 March 2020) – The Coronavirus is not only changing the way we act socially around each other, but it is also impacting the way we shop, travel and work.
A recent trend has seen a growing number of stores who are dedicating time or opening earlier for senior shoppers and other at-risk groups.
People over 60, and especially over 80, are particularly vulnerable to a severe or fatal infection. Added to this, panic shopping has left store shelves empty, and at-risk groups, including seniors, have had difficulty getting supplies.
But one retailer has gone a step further and removed the need to come into the store altogether by offering free delivery to retirement villages and pensioners!
The Eagle Canyon Super SPAR made the announcement yesterday, and although only servicing their community, the store has started an important initiative that might inspire other stores to follow suit.
“At SPAR, we continuously strive to achieve the highest standards of quality in all areas, from our warm and dedicated service to all our products. With the objective of consistently meeting the individual needs of every customer in a caring and homely environment, from our warm and dedicated service to all our products.”
To apply for the free service, all you need to do is email your order to eaglecanyon1@retail.spar.co.za.
“Slow down and enjoy life, it’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast, but you also miss the sense of where you are going and why at Eagle Canyon Super SPAR we understand the challenges our pensioners face and in light of this, we offer FREE delivery to all our retirement villages and pensioners.”
The Coronavirus Pandemic will ultimately change many things, and for many life will never be the same, but initiatives like this might be something we needed to do differently a very long time ago.
