Thanks to a microchip, a family has been reunited with their beloved pet after 7 years!
Western Cape, South Africa (13 September 2022) – Iza recognised her dad immediately; tail wags, tears, and so so much joy came from this moment of reuniting after 7 years of this little pup being missing.
Iza went missing from Somerset West in 2015. Her family desperately searched, posted rewards and did everything in their power to get her back, but they never did find her, and she was never reported as seen. After a long time, the family assumed the worst.
A local recently found the pup in Tafelsig being stoned by kids and immediately brought her to “Rescue is Life” – a rehabilitation and rehoming organisation in Cape Town.
When scanning her, they saw that she was microchipped and her family’s information was readily available. Seven years later, and so many stories untold, this little pup was finally reunited with them.
Rescue is Life would like to remind everyone to please microchip their pets.
“All it takes is for one person to pick them up and have them scanned for them to be reunited with you again. If you find a stray, take them to your nearest vet to be scanned. It could save many tears, lots of heartache and trauma.”
