Community clean-up non-profit, Clean Projects, are giving Benoni an easy way to show their love for the planet and people in need of wheelchairs with a new bottle cap collections station that boasts all the innovation!
Benoni, South Africa (24 February 2025) — Community clean-up non-profit Clean Projects spent a significant amount of giving love community by way of beautifying it. Now, they’ve got a whole new way for locals to show their love for the planet and people thanks to a new bottle cap collection station!
Boasting a sleek heart shape with ample space for hundreds of kilos of bottle caps, the collection station stands proudly as a way for people to recycle pesky bottle caps with intention.
When enough kilograms of bottle tops are collected, organisations like the Sweethearts Foundation can use them to trade for wheelchairs which are then given to people who are in dire need resources like this.
As Clean Projects beamed, 500kg of bottle tops can be exchanged for a wheelchair. And, now with a new bottle cap collection heart in tow, hopes are high that Benoni’s momentum will help someone in need move forward in their life with new wheels; all while mitigating litter problems that bottle caps are often the centre of.
Benonians have since responded with warmth and love to the innovation which also doubles as a dream Clean Projects have had for a long time.
As Clean Projects explains, the collection heart was bolted into the ground and is open for collection. Currently, it is at the Davidson/Malcom street triangle near the Bunny Park (which the team also gave a wonderful makeover recently), next to the World of Wellness Centre.
