From rivers flowing into Theewarterskloofdam to Cape Town streets turning into rivers, Capetonians are rejoicing their first substantial winter rainfall. These are the videos…
Capetonians are rejoicing at the amount of rain they have received during their first seasonal rainfall. Social media has been flooded with images and videos of the water in the Cape.
Rivers headed towards Theewaterskloofdam have been filmed, showing a steady flow heading towards the dry area. The Du Toits River is one of them and we couldn’t help but smile at the video going around social media.
Watch the video below, you can see it starting to flow over the dry soil. It is such a beautiful sight we actually cried a little! The video was filmed about 15 km from Worcester and it is heading in the direction of Wolseley.

Many suburbs have found themselves a little waterlogged and Arrive Alive has urged road users to drive with caution. One man in Table View even pulled out his SUP board and took a paddle down one of the main roads in the suburb.
We have been told that many people’s water tanks have started overflowing and one man has had to divert his tanks outflow into the pool to try and save as much of the heavy rainfall as possible. The Table View police station has been slightly flooded as well as the Tygerberg Hospitals parking lot.

Jacques Bronkhorst shared before and after images, captured nearly 24-hours apart from a security camera facing a bridge. The change is fantastic!
