A box full of balls placed on a beach in Cape Town is going viral for all the right reasons!
Blouberg, Cape Town (24 February 2019) – The yellow box created in memory of Cody, an 8-year-old pup, is giving us all the feels today.
“Cape Town Beach Cleanup” found the box on the 19th of February during one of their beach sweeps and immediately posted pictures to their social media. The proudly South African initiative organise monthly cleanups around the whole of Cape Town and thought the memory beach box was such an incredible idea!
Linda Bamford Hefer saw the post on the page and immediately tagged her 17-year-old daughter Cayley Hefer, whose idea was to place the box on the beachfront. The mom and daughter were heartbroken to lose their special boy but wanted to do something special to remember and honour his memory.
The box is filled with tennis balls and has a letter printed on it with a picture of beautiful Cody. It reads:
“In loving memory of our precious boy.
He loved this beach. Please help yourself to a tennis ball for your dog to enjoy. You may wish to pop it back in the box for another doggie to play with.
Always remember to live each moment like your dog; with unconditional love, loyalty and happiness…”
The photos have been seen and shared by many who have been left in tears with the beautiful tribute to Cody and a blessing to other pups on the beach.
