The Matroosberg Reserve has had beautiful snowfall, showing just how chilly the cold front hitting South Africa really is!
Matroosberg, South Africa (27 May 2020) – A monster cold front has swept across South Africa, making the first winter chill a proper shock to the system. We have been bracing ourselves but one can never really be ready for the cold.
No amount of sunshine is able to penetrate the walls of our houses and heat up the building for the day. Many South Africans will struggle even more so now that the cold has set in. So if you have the means to, please support your nearest charity during this time. You can find a list of charities here.
Every weather agency in South Africa has been issuing warnings of bad weather and low temperatures. The Matroosberg Reserve has had a beautiful snowfall thanks to the cold front, showing the good side of the chill. We reached out to the team there and they shared some stunning images of the snow. Owner Didi de Kock took the photos, take a look.
“First snow of the season only on the mountain at the moment but hope that down the line we will have good ground-level snow.
Stay warm and stay safe” – Didi de Kock
If you can, support your local charity by donating warm clothing, blankets and closed shoes. These items will go a long way to keeping someone warm through this monster chill!
