They spend their lives teaching the community about compassion for all creatures, but this holiday season, the dedicated Edu-Paw team was dealt a devastating blow.
Amanzimtoti, South Africa (09 January 2026) – Over the Christmas holidays, a dedicated time for joy, festivities and all good things, the Edu-Paw Amanzimtoti team was unfortunately dealt a devastating blow.
“Sadly, 2026 has not started as we had hoped,” Edu-Paw shares.
“Over the Christmas period, our office container was broken into. Doors, windows and security bars were smashed, and everything we needed to start our new class was stolen.”
Though faced with heartbreaking and unforeseen circumstances, the canine care education organisation’s dedicated facilitator, Nomfundo, together with all volunteers, remains committed to carrying out their vital work and what lies at the heart of Edu Paw: to teach children basic canine care and nurture a lifelong love and compassion for animals.
“Our hearts are heavy, and we honestly don’t know where to turn — but we do know the strength of our Edu Paw family.”
Edu-Paw is currently reaching out to the broader community for help, so that they can continue doing what they do best – educating today for a kinder tomorrow.
“We are making a heartfelt appeal to our supporters to please share this message far and wide and, if you are able, to help us rebuild. Our most urgent need is to secure the container by replacing windows, door locks, security bars and gates. Once this is done, we will need to replenish the items that were taken. To start with, we need: collars and leashes, dog blankets and jackets and adult and puppy food.”
