If you love travelling to the bush and missing it dearly during the lockdown, game rangers have teamed up with Latest Sightings Kruger to do a live game drive.
South Africa (14 April 2020) – The lockdown is affecting everyone at the moment, besides the loss of income for millions of people, many have had to give up their holidays and love of travel during this time. For those that love to get away to the quiet in the bush, fear not, you can from the comfort of your couch.
Latest Sightings Kruger often features on our website for sharing incredible wildlife sightings. The videos regularly go viral and leave us in awe of nature. The video-sharing company has teamed up with the game rangers of MalaMala Private Game Reserve, to host live-streamed game drives on the Latest Sightings YouTube channel.
The rangers at the reserve are currently on lockdown as well. Many of the staff have been sent home, leaving a select few to run operations and continue anti-poaching protocols. While out on drives to check the reserve isn’t in danger from poachers, the game rangers film and live-stream their sightings. These are often accompanied by questions from viewers and answered by the game rangers on duty.
The live-streaming operates very much like how a real-life game drive would work. If you take part, you can ask any number of questions about the wildlife in the sighting.
If you would like to view the next live-streamed game drive, all you need to do is subscribe to the Latest Sightings Kruger YouTube page. They keep the previous live-streamed videos which you can watch after the fact. Take a look at the previous one below.
