Gift of the Givers arranged volunteers and helicopters with “water bombs” to protect the entire community after a fire broke out.
Gqeberha, South Africa (02 December 2022) – The Gift of the Givers has come to the rescue of Fairview after a fire broke out in an area that has been without water for three days.
According to the Gift of the Givers, the fire started 200 meters away from homes in the area and 30 meters away from a substation. The entire area had been “water shedded” for three days before the fire started and is set to continue for another two days.
“The fire was put out by the new volunteers that Gift of the Givers funded and brought in from St Frances Bay. Our team succeeded just in time to extinguish the flames.”
