Iran is a beautiful country situated on the Persian Gulf. With all that the country has been through there are lots of misconceptions. Tolt made a short film debunking some of them.
Tolt created a vimeo video called “Don’t go to Iran”, the video is made to promote tourism in Iran. It takes 10 commonly made criticisms or reasons that have been told as a deterrent for traveling to the country and then it debunks them by showing how the country actually is. Tolt is famous for his travel video’s promoting different places such as Kyrgyzstan, Guatemala and Tanzania.
An example of a typical criticism in the video is “Iran is just a big desert”, this is very untrue as Iran has a mountain range just 2 hours outside of the Capital which boasts an amazing Ski Resort. Iran also has beaches where dolphins can be spotted and a person could go scuba diving.
Tourism in Iran is always over looked because of the country being located in the Middle East and being labeled as unsafe. Tolt wants you to see for yourself and not to believe everything you see and hear. Almost every country in the world has a dark side and a place within the city that isn’t safe and must be avoided.
Politically things are a bit tense at present but in time everything should settle and normalise as it once was before all the political changes and new rules uprooted everything.
“Don’t go to Iran… You might have the best trip of your life”
Many viewers have commented on the video feed sharing their thoughts,
“I haven’t been back to my country in almost 30 years and I’m 42. Tears came rolling down my face when I saw your video. I had simply given up on ever going back. Thank you for bringing me back to my senses. Keep making your quality projects my friend, they’re more than just visual masterpieces, sometimes they’re simply life changing.” – Rey Rostami
“Very good job. I like how you confront the stereotypes to the reality. I was there few month ago and I love this country.” – Johann Prod’Homme
