Parts of Johannesburg, Erkuhuleni and Tshwane are still reeling after flash floods hit the cities on Thursday afternoon.
Torrential rains have caused havoc this afternoon in and around Johannesburg with cars submerged on several city roads and highways‚ prompting widespread traffic gridlock.
South Africans across the country have been shocked by images of cars, houses and small businesses wrecked by the rushing water.
Motorists in peak traffic have been sharing images of the storm on social media, reporting of the severe flooding in many areas.
