South African Social Media has been set alight with various tornado sightings which have been seen around Johannesburg this afternoon.

Phumulani Mall and a clinic in Thembisa has been damaged by the gale force winds and accompanying hail.

Motorists in peak traffic have been sharing images of the twister to social media, reporting of the severe hail in the area.

News of the Joburg tornado comes just 25 hours after footage of a tornado in Magaliesburg was recorded by Gauteng local Mario Ferreira.

Extreme weather has been wreaking havoc in SA since Monday, 25 July, and the SA Weather Service warns that the floods and snow is expected to continue until Thursday.
