Forget thousands of crazy snakes and a lizard… Africa has a genius giraffe who totally kicks a lions ass. Yup, you want to watch this.
In the latest episode of the BBCs new Planet Earth 2, we visit the world’s deserts, a land of extremes that pushes life to the limit. Animals here have developed ingenious ways of dealing with the hostile conditions – giving rise to the most incredible survival stories on Earth.
The clip which is going viral is focused on a pride of desert lions from a pack of desert lions of Namibia who were so hungry that they risk hunting a giraffe several times their size… and the footage is a glorious as it sounds.
As David Attenborough calmly commentates the would-be brawl, the giraffe’s chances of just waltzing away from a brewing lion attack appear to be quite slim indeed. Then, much to the entire lion community’s collective annoyance, the flipping giraffe throws a few kung-fu blows before confidently strutting elsewhere.
