Resource-full! Brand South Africa Promotes Free Toolkit to market the Country

Johannesburg, South Africa – In 2015 Brand South Africa, in partnership with the Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA), and Vega School, launched South Africa’s first Nation Brand Master Class.

“The Master Class is aimed at developing a more formal framework to train and equip marketers and communicators, from the public as well as the private sector with the necessary skills to profile the unique features of the South Africa Nation Brand,” says Sithembile Ntombela Acting Chief Marketing Officer of Brand South Africa.

As custodians of the nation brand, Brand South Africa has in the past done several training session with provinces and metros to promote a cohesive brand when embarking on international trade tours. The Nation Brand Master Class has been designed to take this training to a new level – a structured approach to impart knowledge and empower other marketers on new and different ways they can profile the country brand.

The Nation Brand Master Class modules include an introduction to nation brand, why countries engage in nation branding, South Africa’s country brand positioning, image and reputation, country brand competitiveness, country brand identity and brand architecture. The last section looks at nation brand measures and tools.

Academias (internationally and locally) have shown immense interest in this masterclass and have reached to Brand South Africa for this training.

It remains a service that Brand SA offers to its stakeholders at no cost. Ultimately success is when most South Africans are empowered and know more about their country and can connect with Brand South Africa in promoting our country brand most effectively.

Continues Ntombela, “It is important to educate and guide key stakeholders in the nuances of communicating a nation brand on multiple platforms. Country brands such as India, Germany and Chile have done a sterling job in building a unified country brand image and reputation.”

“The Master Class on positioning the Nation Brand demonstrates that all South Africans have a role to play, and are equally part of building our nation brand. We as South Africans can are already delivering the Brand South Africa experience! The experience that is built on the foundation of inspiration,” concludes Ntombela.
