Matroosberg

South Africa is freezing cold at the moment! The cold snap has come with a force and left many shivering in their boots but this Matroosberg footage makes it worth it.

Every bit of snow and frost means water for the country so we get pretty excited to share any kind of news related to the snow. Someone had the best idea… Send a drone up in Matroosberg and see what everything looks like blanketed in fluffy white snow.

Pieter Seyffert was the man behind the drone and the footage he captured looks like something from a movie, a winter wonderland. You would almost expect a polar bear to come running across with its adorable cubs.

Owners of a local guesthouse have said that this is the most snow they have had in 10 years. The last time anything came close, was 2008. On the ground, some parts are deeper than 10cm thick and the sky continues to produce more snow with each passing minute.

Some people have joked and said this footage is not of Matroosberg but more likely Serbia or the North Pole. It is 100% in SA though.

You can watch the beautiful footage below. Stay warm out there folks!
