New Beginnings Animal Rescue Centre in Bloemfontein received a generous donation from the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fund that will change many fluffy lives.

Bloemfontein, South Africa (13 May 2021) – Weeks after announcing their R400 000 donation to the NSPCA for field officer and inspector training, community loyalty programme MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet once again donated in aid of animals, this time over R100 000 to Bloemfontein-based animal rescue centre, New Beginnings, to assist with necessities for needy animals.

Winter is fast approaching which means charitable organisations will have to work even harder to ensure that their operations can continue through the harsher, colder months. One such organisation is New Beginnings, established in Bloemfontein in 2013.

Their focus is on abandoned and abused animals, and they work together with volunteers to rehabilitate animals and find them new homes. The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet donation will allow them to ramp up their supplies for the influx of abandoned and abused animals.

“This generous contribution will go towards the building of our horse centre, rehab equipment for our dogs at our current rescue centre, carriers to transport rescue animals in dog kennels, running wires, collars, dog food and other necessities for needy animals,” says Emain Fourie, President and Founder of New Beginnings.  “This comes at such a crucial time just before winter and it will enable us to help more starved, abused, cold and sick animals while doing our proactive fieldwork.”

This donation is one of many that MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has been able to facilitate over the years, and is primarily due to the loyalty of their supporters, the everyday consumers, who make the conscious effort to swipe their MySchool or linked Woolies card, every time they make a purchase at the programmes retail partners, in-store and online.

“We are extremely grateful to be able to assist New Beginnings with this donation and want to thank each and every supporter for making this and all other donations to worthy causes possible,” says Pieter Twine, General Manager of MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet.

“It’s thanks to our supporters’ continuous efforts as everyday heroes that tangible differences can be made everywhere.”

To support New Beginnings and their efforts, join MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and select New Beginnings as your beneficiary. Then, simply visit myschool.co.za or download the app. Every time you shop at one of their retail partners, including Woolworths, Engen, Loot.co.za, Bidvest, Waltons, Builders and more, a portion of your spend will be given to a school or cause of your choice – at no additional cost to you.
