Tiyani Maluleke has praised the team from her local Pep store, who found her handbag, called her bank, and kept it safe until her return.
Midrand, South Africa (28 July 2024) – Tiyani Maluleke faced the terrifying ordeal of realising her handbag was gone a day after she had last seen it. In retracing her steps, she found it safely secured by the team at her local PEP store, where she had been shopping the day before.
“On Tuesday, 23 July 2024, I went to buy a few household items at PEP Home in Sanridge Square, Midrand. On Wednesday morning, wanting to charge my laptop, I went to my car to get my laptop charger from my handbag.
It was then that I realised that my handbag was missing.”
“Retracing my steps, I realised that I had forgotten my handbag at PEP Home Sanridge Square the previous day.
I drove there despondently, with very little hope. What were the chances that I was going to get my handbag and purse (both premium brands) as well my money? And the thought of having to redo my licence, IDs and getting affidavits and certifying statements spiked my stress even more.”
Arriving at the store, Tiyani was relieved when the manager recalled her from the day before and handed over her bag.
“But I did get to the store, and boy, what a team!!! They had found my bag and kept it safe. They had even called FNB (because they found my FNB card in the purse) and asked them to call me to let me know that my bag was at the store.”
Funny enough, her bank had called, but she ignored the call, thinking it was a sales call.
“And indeed I had missed calls from FNB which I ignored thinking it was telemarketers.
They were genuinely so happy to hand over the bag to me. And I was so happy to get my stuff back and even more happy at the sincerity and graciousness of the PEP Home Sanridge staff.”
Tiyani is deeply grateful to the team for helping her. They saved her a great deal of grief and time spent on administrative tasks.
