Rhino Calf

Rob the Ranger shared a video of a White Rhino calf that has us collectively oohing and awwing. It features the calf playing, cuddling and nagging mom.

Rhinos are really so much more than fat grey unicorns, they are eternally cute but with the focus being on the adults we forget how much fun it must be as a calf. Rob the Ranger recently filmed a White Rhino calf having fun and doing what kids do, nagging mom, running around and getting cuddles.

The footage of the sweet little White Rhino calf was filmed by Ranger Rob in the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.

“With Rhino being poached at a rate of 3 per day, a small calf such as this shows some hope for the future” – Rob The Ranger

From the very first moment, our hearts melted but then hearing that adorable little Rhino squeak we experienced a chorus of ooh’s and aww’s in the office. Watching the Rhino calf we can almost follow its thought process.

It starts out by noticing onlookers and takes a stance to show them who is the boss! The Rhino then bounces over to mom and cuddles up on her. This is followed by a “come on mom, get up and play!” nudge and a sweet little horn fight that turned into really great belly rubs.

When mom is finally up the Rhino calf morphs into a bunny (only kidding) and bounces around mom filled with happiness. This video is our new favourite! Watch it below.
