Lebogang Parkie and his friends from Soweto have persevered despite a terrible attempt to derail their business.
Soweto, South Africa (23 November 2022) – A group of school friends from Freedom Park in Soweto were desperate to make a living. This video tells how they have started a successful recycling business.
You can make money and save the environment at the same time, says Lebogang Parkie.
Adel Van Niekerk from GroundUp, joined the friends at their sorting facility, to learn more about what they are doing and their hopes for the future. She finds out about how they have faced interferance from competitors and even had to overcome an arsen attack.
Despite facing challenges, the friends have gone on to get support from international sources and feel hopeful about the future.
