It was love at first sight as a family spotted brave dog Sugar, who had previously been a victim of a severe degloving injury. The road to recovery was long, but fate intervened, and she now looks forward to a life filled with joy and love!
Cape Town, South Africa (05 December 2024) – The world can be a cruel place, even for the most innocent of creatures. After suffering what we imagine to have been an excruciating pain from a severe de-gloving injury, brave dog Sugar soon found much-needed care and attention when she was brought into the loving TEARS Animal Rescue home.
Sugar’s injury required intensive care and a much longer recovery period than most. Despite her challenges, Sugar’s sweet and gentle spirit shone through every step of her healing journey.
“Her nine-month stay in our kennels may have seemed long, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. During that time, Sugar’s strength and personality blossomed, and she patiently waited for her perfect match,” TEARS shared.
Thankfully, this resilient furbaby didn’t have to wait much longer, as last month, a loving family saw her at TEARS’ Adoption Day at Cavendish Mall and knew she was the missing piece of their lives!
“The delay in her adoption was truly fate working its magic, as Sugar now has a forever home where she is cherished and adored.
“Sugar’s journey is a testament to the power of patience, resilience, and love,” the organisation added.
