A happy, smiley tree called Jub Jub is bringing all the cheer to the Kirstenhof community!

Western Cape, South Africa (29 April 2022) – Visitors to Kirstenhof will be greeted with a happy, smiley welcome from a tree called “Jub Jub”.

The residential suburb of Kirstenhof is centrally situated near a number of shopping centres, restaurants and tourist-friendly facilities. Neighbour to Tokai, Kirstenhof shares a similar laid-back suburban feel while being only about 20 minutes from the City Bowl of Cape Town and a little over half an hour from the Cape Town International Airport.

The smiley tree is part of the community, and everyone has been waiting for him to return.

Carolynne Franklin – Ward Councillor to the area – shared the post thanking Anthony and Clé du Cap for bringing some cheer to the area. The community have also apparently named him Jub Jub.

“Makes me smile every time I see him. So glad he’s back, thank you.” – Anderine Logie

“I looked a few days ago and thought no face. We all need smiles at the moment.” – Colleen Batty

“Love this little tree.” – Janine Britz

It is beautiful that a simple, kind gesture to put a smile on a tree can bring so much joy.
