Tell dad you love him and that he is a treemendous dad this Father’s Day by sponsoring a tree in his name and restoring a South African forest.
South Africa (11 June 2021) – Greenpop aims to replenish the trees within the forests and communities of South Africa. Working with the community, they plant thousands of trees in underdeveloped areas as part of a lasting reforestation programme.
Greenpop has worked on many different projects including, replanting trees after the Knysna fires, creating green spaces in townships and actively working to stop deforestation through their reforestation project. The project has seen cool events such as a reforestation festival that takes place each year and sees hundreds of people join in to plant trees. But, unfortunately, the pandemic has meant the festival has had to be paused.
This year Greenpop is encouraging people to buy dad a lasting, Earth-changing gift that will be around for generations to come. All you need to do is donate a tree in your dad(s) honour, and they will plant it on your behalf.
Your donation will help fund their reforestation project. Greenpop aims to plant 500,000 trees to restore degraded forest areas, increase biodiversity, and expand ecosystem services across Sub-Saharan Africa by 2025.
By honouring your dad, you can be a part of that restoration! This is how to sponsor a tree in Dad’s name.
Step 1: Choose your tree certificate template.
Step 2: Select how many trees you would like to fund (R120/$8 per tree).
Step 3: Select the forest/site where you would like the trees planted.
Step 4: Personalise your certificate with a special message.
Step 5: Send the certificate to yourself or your dad!
