Adam Spires the ‘Wannabe Vlogger’ of Cape Town went up the West Coast to capture some spectacular drone footage of the Spring flowers in bloom.
Adam Spires – Wannabe Vlogger recently posted some beautiful drone footage of the West Coast flowers. He shared some really valuable information about the Spring blooms, like where the two best spots are and when to travel to see the flowers.
Two of the best flower-viewing hotspots in the Cape Region are the Postberg section of the West Coast National Park, which is only open from August to September. The second spot is the western section of the Tankwa Karoo National Park.
The best time to go look at the flowers is from August to the end of September. Also make sure you visit these places on a sunny day as the flowers are more vibrant. The best time of day is between 10:30am and 3:30pm.
“Both the West Coast and the Tankwa Karoo national parks’ best viewing period is from the last two weeks of August until mid-September.”
Adam Spires really is a wealth of knowledge and his dedication to sharing the wonders of the Western Cape is so generous. He even shared the important contact details for people to call and plan their own floral adventures.
“If unsure about whether the blooms are still on show, give the park offices a call (West Coast National Park: +27(0)22 772 2144 and Tankwa Karoo National Park: +27(0)27 341 1927). It’s also idea good idea to stop off at the park visitor centres to confirm the best viewing routes.”
