Afrikaans

A hilarious advert is going viral as two South African women learn a hard lesson about talking Afrikaans in a foreign country.

South Africa – Every South African living overseas has that one embarrassing story of being somewhere, saying something in Afrikaans thinking nobody else would understand, and then someone does understand. Heck, even Charlize Theron has had that happen to her.

An advert has been circulating social media platforms that has everyone giggling. It showcases two South African women taking a holiday in Greece. They are sitting poolside soaking up the sun and cocktails while having a good old perve at one of the local, chiselled and tanned men. The entire time they are speaking Afrikaans.

The two do not hold back and eventually, the one woman says to be quiet, or he will hear them. The other laughs and says that he won’t understand them.

Oh, Boy! But does he!? The two sit frozen on the spot as the gentleman they have just undressed greets them in Afrikaans. We nearly spat out our tea.

This advert comes hot on the heels as Afrikaans was voted the second sexiest language in the world.

So, tell us, have you ever made the mistake of speaking in your local language in a foreign place and being caught out? Take a look at the hilarious advert below.
