Take a look at the ‘Wizarding World of South Africa’ as cooked up by the magic of Artificial Intelligence!
Global (26 February 2024)—You’ve probably never heard of the Wizarding World of South Africa before, largely because it doesn’t exist. Well, up until now. At least, in the world of digital creation.
Thanks to a social media content creator curious enough to ask their AI what the Wizarding World of South Africa might look like, we have an inclination. Yes, the images aren’t real in the sense that they weren’t taken by a person who found the local version of Hogwarts and decided to snap up a shoot (at least, not that we know of). But, that’s really what AI image prompts are all about—making us think beyond what’s possible.
As has become a popular trend on social media platforms, those who have access to image generating AI magic are in the business of creating visuals through a series of prompts or tasks. We’ve seen South Africa visualised in many different and sometimes hilarious ways (AI even outed all of our true lifestyles once). But every so often, an AI showcase about South Africa will come across our social media pages and tickle our curiosity with its unique take!
The Wizarding World of South Africa already sounds like the kind of place many of us would want to be. Except maybe without the local version of Voldemort. According to Moon Sauce’s AI, we’d have an all-too-perfect Patronus, some very serious-looking villains, a Quidditch field worth taking all the hits for and a very patriotic mystical beast. Not to mention a happy ending and a few other magical essentials up our sleeves.
If you’re a Harry Potter fan who’s still waiting for your owl to deliver your letter to Hogwarts in the mail, you might appreciate seeing some favoured features from the epic Potter stories sprinkled with some Mzansi magic.
