City of Joburg want you to wrap your bed in foil and the internet can't deal!

I sense that this is their way of telling us there are alternatives to keeping warm this winter and load-shedding will be on steroids this year’s winter.

Johannesburg, South Africa – The City of Joburg is offering tips to save energy and keep warm this winter but the internet cant deal.

The official City of Joburg Facebook account shared a picture of a “foiled up bed” saying that there is no need to be cold this coming winter.

“Retain body heat by making use of aluminium foil as your winter duvet this winter #saveenergy.”

But the internet can’t deal, and South Africans have been leaving funny (and concerning) comments on the post (thank goodness we’re able to laugh these things off).

“That was a foiled attempt at getting the message through to the people of South Africa” – Sergio Quintal

“Where are we getting the tin foil from, Home Affairs or Post office?” – Mabel Meyer KaNdiweni

“This is designed to keep single people single and married people unhappy lol.” – Ac Carl

“That looks like a serial killers bedroom.” – Morena Mpandla

“That looks more like a crime scene than a love nest. I think i will pass.” – Florence Tshepiso Masetla

“Add a sprig of rosemary & thyme, season with salt & pepper bake slowly at 160 for 8hrs and your people roast will be perfect” – Joni Van Der Westhuizen

“That looks like a madman s joke. City of Joburg please tell me this is a hackers job? Please.” – Shreela Gupta Banerjee

“Ay ay ay, is that the Mayor’s idea?” – Siphiwe Beresford

“Just supply us with electricity please, hopefully, Eishkom won’t disappoint this winter…” – Mabea Sanah Mashika

“I sense that this is their way of telling us there are alternatives to keeping warm this winter and load-shedding will be on steroids this year’s winter.” – Modi Mo

“Where are we suppose to get so much foil from?” – Ntokozo Shiba

“Best municipality ever, instead of creating job opportunities you create memes.” – Lindokuhle Sibisi
