City of Joburg: Switch off electric blankets and get a warm body this Winter!

The City of Joburg thinks you should switch off the electric blanket and hook up to keep warm this Winter (and save energy)!

Johannesburg, South Africa – The City of Joburg Twitter has gone a bit loopy, but it’s so funny, and Joburgers are loving it!

“You are single because you are wasting electricity with your electric blanket. Go find a warm body. Save energy.”

That is what the official City of Joburg Twitter account tweeted last night to their 918 000 followers.

It seems that the team behind the account have found a sense of humour in between all the serious posts, and Joburgers are loving it!

Chesa Boi posted: “Thanx for making me laugh! Going through a rough patch right now.”

Nomfundo Mcetywa asked: “Can the city please help me find this warm body?”

Msimelomnyama replied: “This is the same person running the Nandos account.”

Motswana jokingly replied: “The statement from the city is very insensitive to us single law-abiding citizens. We demand an apology.”

Maki_Wa_Phokeng said: “Bathong CoJ. I feel so attacked, do you know how loyal that blanket has been to me over the years.”

King Sizwe commented: “Is that why we got Loadshedding you guys are busy keeping each other warm not working?”

Thandi l said: “You guys are ungovernable!! An electric blanket is a low risk. And it goes on the whole night. LOL.”
