A group of men found a creative (and green) way to fill potholes around the city which in turn helped motorists and highlighted the issue for the city officials.

Being South Africans, we can fully understand the plague of potholes. Potholes have become a part of the South African identity. While we don’t think there should be potholes, it is a fact of life so when we saw this video we just had to share it with you all.

The concept was a really clever one because it highlighted the problem and got lots of public attention. It also helped motorists to spot potholes before smashing into them.

If you have ever hit an unnoticed pothole you will be well aware of the stress, fear, anger and anxiety that comes along with hitting one of those bad boys.

The video below is from somewhere in South America and it shows a group of guys driving around and filling the dangerous holes with soil and tall plants. The road users see the plants and avoid hitting the pothole.

Many people can be seen stopping to take photos or smiling at the new addition to the road.

Watch the video below. What are your thoughts?
