Dancing Traffic Officer

Remember the South African dancing Traffic Officer who went viral globally… well she’s back and teaching others her moves too!

Dora Mafokeng, the South African Traffic officer who went viral after a video was released showing her awesome car directing skills is teaching others her moves too.

Murray Kernick uploaded the original video while sitting in his car at the corner of Witkoppen and Cedar Road which he never believed would go viral. The video went on to be shared by international media houses and has already racked up over 1 million views with no sign of slowing down.

Mafokeng, the traffic officer in the video, can be seen directing cars on a hot Saturday afternoon with her South African flair. The best way to describe it… is someone who absolutely loves her job.

Watch the original video below:

Michael Sun – Councillor and MMC for Public Safety in Johannesburg , decided to give Mafokeng a surprise visit after her video went viral… and she decided to give him a traffic dancing lesson!

“I gave her a surprise visit in Diepsloot today to say well done and thanked her for the passion in her work.”

During the week Officer Mafokeng directs traffic at a school point and ensures the learners’ safety but she took a few minutes to teach Councillor Sun a thing or two about her dance moves.

“She is a real gem and we are equally proud of our officers with or without moves.”

It really is incredible to see a government official recognizing everyone’s unique value to making Joburg great!
