Even if elephants weren’t your top pick for favourite animal, an adorable video captured by a nine-year-old boy of two baby elephants playing around like siblings during a game drive is guaranteed to melt your heart or at least lift your mood!
Mpumalanga, South Africa (22 April 2025) – If you needed a pick-me-up today, a rare sighting of two baby elephants fooling around together may just be exactly what you need!
Captured by a nine-year-old “videographer” named Daniel during a family game drive at the Idube Game Reserve, the two ellies were spotted hilariously bumping and falling over each other playfully, acting like the most adorable, clumsy siblings you’ve ever seen.
Urgh! It’s the cutest thing! Even if elephants weren’t at the top of your favourite wild animals list, this clip will easily have your heart pumping custard or at least give you the giggles.
“Hard to believe these are wild elephants, they are very comfortable with the vehicle and appreciative audience,” Idube Game Reserve shared in the post.
The reserve also assured viewers that the mama elephant and other relatives were nearby in the bush during the adorable moment.
“Our guides and trackers are well-trained, professional and watch very carefully, especially not to upset big elephants or their babies, and protect guests, but it appears these littlies were determined to put on a show.”
And a good show it was! The video has also garnered many views and endearing comments from charmed South African viewers appreciating the baby elephants in all their childlike cuteness.
