A South African who has been working in Dubai met his girlfriend there and decided to show her the beauty of home over December. Spoiler alert: SHE LOVED ALL OF IT (and the street drums)!

Maboneng, South Africa (24 February 2020) – It is very rare that a tourist comes to South Africa and hates it. We have such diversity throughout the country. Whether that be landscapes and climates or the people and their cultural celebrations, people are guaranteed to fall in love with the country.

Rob Melman, a South African working abroad in Dubai, decided to bring his British girlfriend to South Africa to meet the family. Emma Chapman-Burnett and Rob were exploring the streets of Maboneng when they came across street performers playing the drums.

Friends filmed the pair as they danced and took in the South African vibe of the band. They had so much fun! Rob Jardine, a friend of the couple, contacted Good Things Guy to tell us about how Emma fell in love with South Africa.

He said that she had never been to South Africa before and was so glad to see how the country had impressed her.

“We all went out in Maboneng during Christmas time to give her an authentic experience of Joburg. When walking past a street performer this happened…” – Rob Jardine.

We are always encouraging people to visit SA and showcasing the very best of what SA has to offer. It warms our hearts seeing tourists having so much fun here! Especially in parts of the country that are not celebrated as much.
