ET

Even if you didn’t grow up when ET came out, you will know precisely who the adorable extraterrestrial is and be just as excited as us that he is back!

Global – Christmas adverts are enormous these days; they are highly anticipated similarly to the adverts for the SuperBowl in the United States. They are heartwarming, bring a tear to the eye and sometimes make us laugh out loud.

An advert by a digital television provider, Xfinity, similar to that of Netflix, Showmax and the likes, featured a reunion that has all ’80s babies very excited! It is called “A Holiday Reunion” and features ET and an adult Elliot, who is played by Henry Thomas, reconnecting after 40 years apart.

The reunion sees Elliot introduce ET to his two children, inviting him for dinner and some fun in the snow before ET sets off back to his spaceship. ET bestows the same gift of love into Elliot’s children just as he did when Elliot was a boy.

This is a reunion we didn’t know we needed and it has us thinking of all the other reunions we could have. What is a childhood film you loved and would love to see done similarly to this advert?

If you have never seen ET, that is your homework for the weekend before watching the advert below. If you have seen ET, enjoy the advert here and try not to feel super nostalgic.
