The authority on the festive season’s official kickstart (Mariah Carey) has officially declared that ‘It’s time’ in true Mariah Carey fashion—an iconic video. Watch:

Global (08 November 2024) — Festive season fanatics need only the smallest go-ahead to pull out their trees, start mapping out all things festive decor and begin their gift-list planning. But for those who need a slightly more solid reason to give their festive fun the green light, we’ve got good news. The authority on festive season timing (Mariah Carey) has officially declared that ‘It’s time’. So, it’s time!

Every year, Mariah Carey—whose holiday music is as deeply embedded in mainstream festive season culture as red and green decor—informs her fans as to when it is, in fact, time to unleash the reindeer, prepare to rock around the Christmas tree and of course, play her songs without judgement from the neighbours once more.

Mariah usually offers a fabulous video kicking spooky season to the curb, and this year’s video was its own cinematic pleasure.

In the clip, Mariah adopts an Addams Family aura with a hairdo and sleek gown inspired by Morticia Addams.

She dances away, with Gomez, a distant look in her eye before this tango takes quite a twist.

Pushing Gomez to the ground, Mariah Addams selects a dagger and hurls it towards him, smashing the mirror that easily would’ve been his face had he not moved in the last second.

A smug Mariah Addams grins as the days of the month start flying about to the tune of bellowing bells. Grand doors open to reveal the singer’s famous Santa one-piece and before we know it, Mariah is whistling notes high enough to make your dog quiver after having successfully transformed from Mariah Addams to Mariah Carey; sleigh in tow.

Of course, the video doesn’t end there. Mariah must ride around a frosty ice palace singing her hit ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’!

As much as it may pain some who have heard the track for the entirety of its 30-year lifespan to admit, there is something magical about Mariah’s hit that’s infectiously festive. It’s hard not to tap one’s toes, dream of how the Christmas tree will look this year or start getting excited about all the festive lights set to pop up around town.

And the Good Things Guy team are a part of those who simply cannot wait for the season that’s all about giving!
