A Grade 12 learner took the chance to use a class assignment as a way to express his comical outlook on life. The instructions he shares had us giggling!

An English teacher in Strand, Cape Town gave her class an assignment. They were asked to write up a list of instructions on a subject of their choice. One learner decided to write up instructions on what to do on a first date.

However, he made his list of instructions rather cheeky and by the end of the list, the class was in stitches. Teacher René thought it was hysterical and filmed the learner reading his instructions out loud. She shared the video with Good Things Guy in the hopes that it would bring laughter into the lives of more people.

“I’m a teacher in Strand, Cape Town. This video is one of my grade 12 students reading an instructional text he wrote about “How to behave on a first date”. It’s obviously tongue-in-cheek, but I thought it was hilarious.” – René van Niekerk

How to behave on a first date

Make sure your date has more money than you.

Take her to the best table in the smoking area.

Don’t be afraid!

Always order a dessert for brownie points.

Have a nice chat about the weather to prevent awkwardness.

Don’t slurp your juice.

When your food comes before hers, wait till she has her plate… Otherwise, you will have to share yours.

Eat with your mouth closed and do not eat the chips that fell on the floor.

Don’t dip your chips in her sauce.

Wait until she offers to pay for the food, then say yes!

And then… Ask for a lift to your next date.
