The beloved Funda Nenja organisation has its very own song, which was created in 2019, and they are resharing it to inspire a bit of fun.
Mpophomeni, South Africa (21 January 2024) – Created in 2019, the Funda Nenja song is once again inspiring animal lovers to kick the week off with a good start. Last week the team shared the song on their social media in the hopes of inspiring supporters.
The song was composed and produced by Don Clarke in 2019, and Penny van Asche created a video to go along with the song. The team shared the song in anticipation of starting the weekend, but we don’t see why it can’t also be used to prep for the new week too!
“The Funda Nenja song will start your week/end with a spring in your step and a smile on your face” – Funda Nenja
Funda Nenja, a dog training initiative, runs in the township of Mpophomeni, near Howick, in the KZN Midlands of South Africa. They focus on animal welfare in the area by providing dog training lessons to the children and much-needed vaccinations for their beloved dogs.
These lessons teach the dogs some obedience skills but also help the children bond with their pets to form a deeper connection. The classes help educate children about animal welfare and encourage them to show their families how to treat animals too.
The classes are hosted each week, and as part of the programme, the dogs involved get checked up by the primary veterinary clinic. For any animals not inoculated yet, they get it done right there.
The work being done is shifting the community of Mpophomeni. If you would like to support their endeavours, you can do so via Facebook here.
