The creators of the hit European show, Geordie Shore, are apparently casting for a South African version.
Johannesburg, South Africa (16 July 2016) – Geordie Shore is a British reality television series broadcast on MTV and based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was first broadcast on 24 May 2011 and is the British version of the American show Jersey Shore.
The show follows the daily lives of 8-12 housemates, depending on the series, as they live together for a number of weeks. In the first series, the house was located in Jesmond, a suburb of Newcastle. Since the second series, the show has used a house in the Ocean Business Park in Wallsend.
In a column for Metro, Christopher Hooton described the show as “a gaudy kaleidoscope of six packs, shots, fights, simulated fellatio and exposed breasts,” but said that criticism of the show was futile given its intent, noting that “being shocked by the lasciviousness of Geordie Shore is like being shocked by the lack of nutrition in a Pot Noodle.”
In the casting call posted on Gumtree on 14 July 2016, the production company, all3media, state that they are just looking for the “wildest guys”.
They’re however only looking for men, and these guys must be able to “party from the morning shot of tequila to the late-night sex session.”
There are only three small requirements before you rush to send your application in:
- You have to be between the ages of 18-32,
- You have to be a legal South African citizen,
- And you must be comfortable with nudity.
We’re not sure it’s a good thing that the show might be heading to South Africa but we thought it might be a good thing to let you know… in case you might want to join the cast of the South African version!

I would like to be part of the production because I have watched geordie shore from season one, I understand the south African climate and know so many radjie south Africans who would be perfect… I even thought of starting my own version called Jozi Shore….. all being said I would make THE PERFECT ANNA
