It is hard not to feel absolutely shaking with excitement after witnessing the Grey High School students send a message of good luck to the Springboks.
Gquberha, South Africa (23 October 2023) – Bok fever is growing this week as we set our sights on the Rugby World Cup finals this coming Saturday. The young men from Grey High School, Siya Kolisi’s Alma Mater, shared a goosebumps-inducing cheer last week in the lead-up to the semi-finals as a good luck message and we are so inspired, we had to share it now.
Grey High School is situated in Gquberha (formerly Port Elizabeth). The school prides itself on tradition, excellence and opportunity. It is here that Springbok rugby captain Siya Kolisi found his love for rugby and here he has had the rugby field named after him. It is his home ground for all things sports.
The video of the school doing a “B.O.K.K.E” cheer went viral locally with thousands of shares, comments and likes. It is easy to tell why… watching the video gave us full-body goosebumps.
Imagine being the Springboks and seeing that video and all the other videos that have come before, cheering our guys in green and gold on.
Now as we brace for the upcoming match against New Zealand, we can only hope they know just how much South Africa stands behind them!
This week, every day is Bok Day – so wear your jerseys, sing your cheers, bang those drums and let the Bokke know, we stand behind them.
While the message may have been for the semi-finals, its carrying through to this week’s final and continues to give us goosebumps! Just WOW!
