Danusha Laméris’ beautiful poem “Small Kindnesses” has been read aloud by actress Helena Bonham Carter and we loved it!

Global (19 March 2024) – Allie Esiri has compiled a book of poems that celebrates the works of the greatest poets of all time. Recently, Helena Bonham Carter got to read the poem “Small Kindnesses” by Danusha Laméris, and we loved it so much that we had to share it.

Helena Bonham Carter has been reading several poems from the book, which is titled 365 Poems for Life. The book features poets such as Rumi, William Carlos Williams and Mary Oliver – to name but a few.

If, like me, you thrived in English class but never quite understood poetry (there is no judgment here at Good Things Guy), having poems read to you by someone else is marvellous. Having them read by the talented and ultra-quirky Helena is even more marvellous!

We adore the poem “Small Kindnesses” by Danusha Laméris. It highlights the small kindnesses we share with each other, like giving up a seat, offering a simple compliment or saying “bless you” when someone sneezes. You can find more of her poems and Small Kindnesses on her website here.

Take a listen to Helena Bonham Carter reading the poem below:
