John Vlismas The Good Racist

Acclaimed and outspoken comedian John Vlismas debuts his latest hour show, The Good Racist at The Perth Comedy Festival.

South Africa loved John Vlismas’ new show and now Perth is getting its own one too!

Audiences will come face to face with some of the uncomfortable truths of our society as the award-winning South African comic pulls no punches – the way only Vlismas can.

“He has written, directed, lectured, acted and mc’d in all kinds of venues from seedy bars to the Royal Albert Hall. He’s odd, he’s mad, he’s sharper than you and he’s the guy that gets the guy who booked him a promotion.”

For over 20 years Vlismas has deftly walked the line between underground, alternative and mainstream comedy. His particular brand of strange and hilarious has charmed local and international audiences alike. His absurd worldview has the rare ability to resonate across any audience. Corporate groups, spotty students and mensa inductees all respond to his unique, home grown observations… and now he’s bringing all that charm to the Perth Comedy Festival.

The Good Racist sees Vlismas at his most frank and, arguably, his best. Far removed from your typical jokes, the show leaves the audience with many “a-ha” moments as they are forced to ponder on issues such as the Voortrekkers, Mahatma Gandhi, Shaka and Mugabe.

It will make you question everything.

Get your tickets now Australians who love South African humour… before it’s too late.
